  1. Surprised no one has mentioned the threads by nerdelemental. He's one of the henchman in our area who came from warmachine, and with the help of others (I think?) made up a bunch of noob primers for the game, at least two of which are warmachine geared. They could be useful, but they aren't updated for the book two or three things. They're also loose comparisons, but hopefully they can give a very general idea. http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7657 For faction guides, and http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7934&highlight=warmachine Is a game mechanics type of thing. That nerdelemental person has a few more threads, and hopefully that helps! Plus if we bug him he'll update and add book two and three masters.
  2. Great idea using tuco. Gave me the idea of using it with Zoraida, would this work? Turn 1 : Zoraida makes a voodoo doll, crystal ball, and then move or obey. Voodoo goes, does his stuff, etc. Turn is all normal, keeping tuco a slight bit back. Voodoo doll poison goes off. Turn 2 : Voodoo doll activates at some point, does his thing. Tuco goes, shoots off a taint loyalty on the voodoo doll. Zoraida does crystal ball again, then obeys something (tuco perhaps) to kill the voodoo doll using the spellcasting AP. This gives her both of her general AP and both of her requirements, so she transforms. Rest of the game goes as normal. I figure you could do the obey kill turn one, but that requires you killing something that you brought extra. All this tactic requires is Tuco. Plus, you kill a voodoo doll which would have been killed when she manifested otherwise.
  3. Would there be some potential of using seishin as set-up targets?
  4. If you arise on first activation, then second activation arise, then do your avatar form after second arise, you can't mass grave since you've used your 0 action, aye?
  5. What would this help though? He only gets counters when corpse tokens are discarded or sacrificed I thought.
  6. Looking over it, it seems a bit weird. You're going to lightly tapping with numerous attacks, due to hard to wound and armor keeping your own models alive. First turn there seems to be a definite issue with your A&D, since it'll be at three wounds from the vultures dying, and rafkin won't get any body parts from attacking friendly models. That means nico will have to kill A&D with his cane when his damage profile is 1/2/3 and A&D has H2W2. Then again, if your opponent has long-range models he could easily steal the kills from you for bigger trouble, unless you're hiding deep back in your zone.
  7. Can the doppelganger copy zoraida's doll producing ability? Popping out two a turn seems like you could have a nice little doll factory in back shooting them up to collodi.
  8. Yes, it still is quite easy, for most people. The fact that it isn't easy should be some sort of warning bell. I like the idea, but it seems like it'll be the next book before we fully have them fleshed out and developed. As it is, some of them are manifests you want, others you don't, and while you only see them a few rounds of the game, there are other models who do just the same, and you've got models in the reverse, show up for the first few rounds and then they're dead or sacrificed. I still think Colette has the easiest manifest though. There's no card requirement, or any flips required. Just teleporting and reactivating, and turn two she gets a whole activation before she reactivates and then manifests, which makes it extremely turn-efficient too.
  9. Easy ones: Kirai, if you're willing to use your totem choice up on just making her a spirit turn 2 before she activates, and get a nice card. Nicodem. Kill some dogs, make some zombies using arise. Colette: Illusionist twice, reactivate. Illusionist, do final action. Next turn you're set, activate, reactivate, transform. Ramos, mobile toolkit. Make a spider and a creation. Lilith, need a 7 to cast illusionary forest, do it twice. Somer, have a few goblins make themselves fast. Use take a swig, take a swig, reckless, take a swig.
  10. This could be missing something, but it seems like Sue would be great in a pandora force. Sue and Collodi together, and your Stitched Together attacks are at WP 10, and pandora is up to WP 9, as long as they keep in the collodi/sue WP boost bubble.
  11. So while a niche case, I was wondering what would happen in this situation: Nurse gives doppelganger painkillers. Doppelganger activates, copies juju's fist and intractable from enemy death marshal, and fights. During turn, doppelganger takes all 8 wounds. Painkillers means she can't die, but at the end of the turn, what happens? I think painkillers wears off before intractable, so intractible prevents her from being sacrificed. Does she die from having 0 wounds right after that, or does she just sit at one wound until next turn?
  12. Thanks for the game Rob! I'm still making mistakes, but getting better. And playing a hell of a lot faster. So things Drew needs to remember: 1) Poison damage is on a model's activation, not end of turn. 2) I cheat, then soulstone. Not soulstone then cheat. 3) Terror checks, and that I should save a card to cheat for attacking with low WP models, since otherwise I won't even get an attack. 4) Keep out a slow to die model's melee range. 5) Bring your fate deck, and a marker. Counters, dice, measuring tape, rising powers: Got that down. 6) Irresistable! The last is proof that I wouldn't do good with Pandora now Thanks again Dave!
  13. Lelu and Lilitu seem like fun. Two pair are expensive, but that way you don't have to worry about one getting killed and the other bleeding out as fast. Speaking of Nekima and the BBS, is it worth taking the two of them for blood counters this way? 1) Nekima goes, cuts herself for 4 wounds to get one blood token, gives mask to casts. 2) Shaman goes, cuts himself for 4 wounds to get a blood token, and then tries to cast inject blood twice (once on nekima, once on him) to regen a little health and get the blood token back from Bloody Mess trigger. 3) Two tots then use the blood tokens, getting two young first turn, with luck? Turn two, you'll regen when you activate nekima and the BBS, so now they're back to just missing one wound, you've got two young neph instead of tots, and no models were killed in the making of this scenario.
  14. Something I didn't see mentioned, so I was curious about the viability of it as a tactic. Nekima activates, and gives a mask to casts. Never a good sign. Lilith activates after your opponent's next move, brood mother's a lelu, and uses transposition to send him deep into enemy lines. She then uses her other two actions to attack the model that was transpositioned in close. Now Lelu goes, charges/attacks models in range that couldn't be transpositioned. Bond with lilitu for her go. Lilitu then uses lure and pulls lelu back to the rest of the army. This lets you transposition without your model being left out in the cold, and lets you get off a ridiculous range charge with lelu. Is this viable at all, or just silly?
  15. With undead psychosis the belle spells being WP, and train of fear and terrifying, having that onryo to strip away WP immunity and bonuses would seem great.
