  1. I'd love an RPG. Starting off as a nobody the story could be your progression to a Master and how you gathered your crew. Perhaps even starting off as a blank slate, and through mission/character development choices you moved into a specific faction. There could be interesting cameos from existing characters.
  2. I wonder whether this is more likely to happen if an established "author" contacted Wyrd to ask for the rights to write a novel rather than expect a small, over-worked miniature game company to do it. It would need to be handled carefully and would need to work very closely with Wyrd, but the 40K fiction worked well, so it's a possibility.
  3. Awesome idea. I'll speak to my nephew and check it would be something he wants to do. Cheers
  4. I find these discussions quite interesting. I can't comment as I have played no full games (only the first 2 missions in the starter box, although I've followed the game and bought the rule books from first edition) but there does seem to be an awful lot of subjective viewpoint on these questions. I wonder if the player skill as well as their local meta-game influence the decision. E.g., I've read a fair bit about how powerful Lilith is, but is she a lower tier because she's weaker, or that her play style is easier to counter by experienced players? Does it matter how she's played? Is she a beatstick or board controller? Pandora seems to be really frustrating to play against, but does that mean she's better? Also, I guess crew composition and utilising the schemes better can skew the results greatly. I'm not really making a point as such! More that Malifaux is so complex and has so many variables, it makes these discussions very difficult. Having said that, I still love reading/hearing about these things.
  5. I'm really liking the art. I essentially think of the Guild as sleazy, money grabbing, elitist autocrats. Having someone like this rise up to be an investigator makes total sense. Plus, the creepier the better as far as I'm concerned...one of the reasons I love Malifaux.
  6. I live in the North East, but have only just got into Malifaux (i.e. have only bought the starter box split with my nephew). It may be fun to spectate though...is that something that would be allowed?
  7. I'd love to see an RPG. The characters and setting really resonate for me, so to get the most out of that it would have to be something with a lot of dialogue and interactions. The obvious choice would be something like Warmachine: Tactics, but I'd hope not. Warmachine is heavily influenced by the clean rules and competitive nature of the game and suits a turn based strategy game way more than Malifaux (in my opinion). We have Through The Breach on tabletops...
  8. Hi, I'm Chris, a new player based in Newcastle, UK. I first got into gaming about 30 years ago, go all misty eyed when people mention Rogue Trader 40k, being as that was my miniature intro. Never really stayed with wargaming though...mainly focused on role-playing etc. I've been a fan in the shadows of Malifaux since it's first release and own all the Rule books from v.1 onwards but have never bought a single miniature due to no longer having anyone to play with (and now also a young family). Recently my best friend's nephew approached me about getting into wargaming and after having a chat about game systems we've decided (read: I've convinced him) to play Malifaux. We've joint bought the 2 player box, I'm going Neverborn and he's going Guild or Arcanist. Wish us luck!
