So I managed to get a painted crew together for the "Here be Dragons" tournament at Firestorm games (up until 3am the night before to finish them off!) This is the first time in my hobby wargaming career that I've managed to field a fully painted army (even if I kind of cheated by having some translucent minis!) They're painted to a tabletop standard... So no details on the faces I'm afraid. I couldn't find my drill bit to drill the hole through Tara's chest, but will get onto that as soon as I can. Thanks for the kind words everyone, I think I enjoyed painting the hair the most. I'm playing in a tournament this weekend (a first for me) so I'm trying to complete the Tara crew as quickly as possible. Just as Kogan Style suggested, I'm using green to tie most of the Tara themed minis together (eyes on undead/beasties, flames on death marshals, Tara's sword etc) Here is a quick shot of all the miniatures I've painted so far this week: The Nothing Beast is also finished (I only painted the eyes as its a translucent mini) And here's the list of what is left to do: 2 Death Marshals - 50% painted Killjoy - only built 2 Void Wretches - attach to bases, eyes need painting With the choice of Taelor, Killjoy and Nothing Beast, that should give me enough minis to field a good 50ss crew.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm really terrible at painting faces and worry about ruining my minis with a poor job. I feel like some of the highlights such as on Viki's jacket and thigh guards have been lost due to my dingy house and camera phone. The new plastics are gorgeous, the detail on them is so tiny that I'm going to have to invest in some finer brushes and keep practicing. Here is an older picture I had kicking around on my computer. Its the only metal malifaux fig I finished painting, and probably my best attempt at painting a face. (Her head/eyes/mouth are ever so slightly bigger than the new plastics which made it a little easier)

Usually I really struggle to complete anything when it comes to painting, but lately I have been bitten by the bug so I thought I would post some of my efforts. I mostly play outcast and recently got my hands on the smoke nightmare edition Tara crew. I'm going to try and keep a fairly neutral pallet of browns and greys across my outcasts, with splashes of colour for some individuality (for example, Taelor's hair). C&C welcome. sorry for the graininess of the camera!
