  1. I like to take Bette when I use McMourning. Usually when you play McMourning, you want to activate him relatively last, so you don't get eaten alive by the opponents crew after he has done his actions. Now usually if you can get the good doctor into close quarters with an enemy model, then I am pretty sure that they will die. Just from my experience XD What is great about this is that it makes the bette come in, usually after the opponent has activated all of their models so she can go loose. Bette is an awesome and scary model to see lined up after people have chosen crews, if anything she is a pretty big psychological factor that your opponent has to take into consideration as well. Could you guys explain why you don't take her against Neverborn? I realize that her paralyze ability doesn't work against non-living but wouldn't slit jugular still be a good trigger to get off on them? tie that in with flurry and you're bound to get it off at least once XD
  2. In all fairness I do not have the 3 book as I am waiting to buy it from my local hobby store, however why not replace Raphael with this lenny? Francois has so much more potential with the hair line trigger that ophelia just gives him. I think francois is there to just take down something when it needs to go down. So I am very against taking him out of my lists
  3. Hey guys, I just wanted to apologize about not being on the forums or mibbit channel the past couple months, I was working really hard this past semester in order to graduate from undergrad and now I can say I made it, and to congratulate myself I bought the McMourning Box so all's well. XD Its great to be back FrereSebastian
  4. The LaCroix are tons of fun to play, not only are they a mini, green, gremlin wanna-bes of the Ortegas; they also have a lot more shenanigans that more often than not make you and your opponent just laugh. I agree with Cornelious that you will be a strong competitor and people in your LGS might fear your crew, but your crew is also the one that a lot of people enjoy playing against as you never know what the little buggers will do next. I highly suggest picking them up especially because the totems are being released in August XD
  5. I always thought that the Taxidermist was more like Nicodem mostly because of what he looks like but also how he uses corpses to make exploding zombie pigs.... That might be tasty... I would love to see more henchmen though, I really like the gremlin voodoo idea, and I readily agree that the gremlins need a spell caster type
  6. YEAHHH I totally forgot to put that into my post, I was going to say that you have a lot more experience with the Hamelin crew than myself. So of all people you definitely know what works and what doesn't against him. I agree that the three masters of pandora, dreamer, and Hamelin, of course there are more, are all tough to beat. I just got a little heated when someone said that my little bayou hooligans couldn't scrap with the masters XD Its ok on the poll I totally voted for Ophelia
  7. I'm glad that you had some good times when you were playing with the LaCroix kin, numbah one thing in Malifaux is having a blast while playing. Though I'm having a few issues with what you are saying about Ophelia and her gremlins and not able to go toe to toe with any master. I disagree vehemently with Jonas about the Henchmen and their inablility to perform well against masters, and if you think about it, Pandora, Dreamer, and Hamelin, while tough, are not impossible to beat with the LaCroix. As you know and I'm sure everyone reading this knows, you do not need to kill their models to win in Malifaux. PANDORA: With Pandora, I feel as though you have to focus Candy as quickly as possible, not only does she heal, but her abilities are nasty. The best way to deal with the Pandora crew, is having your lacroix gremlins far back, and ready to pepper the hell out of her crew. The easiest way to do this is Rami, he has one of the longest ranges in the game, so, use it to your advantage. Most of the deadly spells in the pandora crew are 12 inches, so have Ophelia give rami the ram, and use dumb luck to really hurt the enemy. So Candy, Pandora, and kade(Im not sure if he does or not) have martyr, which allows other woes in base contact to take their wounds for them. This can be really annoying for us and our focus firing, however, if we use reckless on rami, with the ram from ophelia, thats a lot of damage at three range 16 shots. This output will really force Pandora to make really tough decisions and put her on the back foot. If teddy comes charging forward, use pere, Young'uns, raphael, and Francois as your counter charge and take him out. Number one thing to not do against Pandora, is focus fire her early; it is really easy for the LaCroix gremlins to fail their WP checks to target her, and then lose that precious "alpha strike" action point. Try and whittle down her models and focus on grabbing objectives later on in the game. Use reckless for three moves and you'll see how quick our gremlins are. Also use schemes that will benefit you, such as "kill protege: teddy" or something along those lines. DREAMER: Against the dreamer, you have to be really careful, as he is going to just dick around first turn with alps and out activate you to prime the alp bomb, or just regular dreamer shenanigans. If you can, use rami to put some damage on them if you can, but just be prepared for the popping out chompy on isolated models tactics. If I were to face the dreamer I would have francois and Raphael as my front line, because they are the most solid of the crew. Then once they get into the combat, you are the LaCroix, just shoot the huge neverborn bastard. I have never played against the dreamer, so I can only say for you to turtle a bit and wait for him to make a mistake. HAMELIN: We have discussed numerous ways for beating Hamelin already in this thread, and as this post is already a wall of text, I won't go into it any further. But same things apply. TL;DR: Ophelia can beat ANY master in the game. (So can Von Schill for that matter) Ideas for beating Pandora, Chompy, and Blasts pwn rats/ratcatchers. Hope that this helps Frere
  8. Iwas thinking the same thing, it almost made me want to paint a dreamer crew T.T reminded me of Tim Burton's Nightmare before Christmas, especially the candy model and the grey alps Very well painted crew, send him my Kudos please Frere
  9. If you summon the rogue necromancy, then does that count as one of your two allotted Special Forces: horror slots?
  10. If my Catholic school memory serves me correct, idk its been a long time, isn't Pestilence and Death the same horseman? Just named differently throughout the different translations of the bible?
  11. Ah you are correct sir, either way you can still FT the sloppie and heal everyone else, besides, thats why we take two
  12. Its been a little quiet on the bayou over on Som'er's end, I was just curious about the taxidermist, and want some advice from people who've run him with Som'er. What do you find useful, and what do you find not so useful? Does he need a lot of piglets in his crew or do you find there to be enough corpse counters on the field? Is it efficient to have more than one taxidermist in your crew? How do you maneuver the pork bombs around? how does the taxidermist work with the pigapult? Anyone who has run him please let me know what you think, because I simply have no idea with this awesome little Nicodem wanna be
  13. Murphy, you said that you find that ophelia uses a lot of soulstones, I was curious on what did you use them on? I found that just with the amount of shots she has plus he dumb luck trigger that she can really dish out enough damage. I really only used SS for initiative flips, but it could just be that I got really lucky with flips from the deck, and good control cards in my hand
