  1. Wind gamin up front as a speed bump. I bury it and sacrifice it to give the Arcane Emissary the 5" push. It charges the back ranks and pushes the victim (hopefully the leader) away from the center while Joss and Scorpius take care of the killer of the Wind Gamin and claim the center. But really I have no idea what I'm doing.
  2. Here is another idea: Joss Arcane Emissary The Scorpius Metal Gamin (or Wind Gamin)
  3. Why are they 5 points each instead of 6?
  4. Thanks for all of your replies. Unfortunately, I don't have Rasputin's or Ironside's crew. I do have Joss, Howard, Arcane Effigy and tool kit so I will look closer at them. I thought about Joss and the Oxfordian Mages for the increase in WP and pure killing power of Joss and ranged attacks by the Mages.
  5. Yes, partially. I guess that I need to consider a different henchman. How about Cassandra and 3 Oxfordian Mages?
  6. I've been out of Maliifaux fora year with school, but my local group is hosting a Hardcore Henchman tournament and I thought that I would run Miranda. With only 20 soulstones and 3 models to hire who would you hire? I have 1 of each of the Arcanist beasts and 3 canine remains. Thanks
  7. Thanks for your advise. I don't have Trixiebelle or Old Cranky models yet, but I do have Bert and old metal slop haulers.
  8. My LGS is running a henchman event with 20 soulstones and only 4 figures. We will have close deployment, Turf War and assassinate. I thought that I would run Francois, Rami and Raphael. I haven't decided on my last model. Pere Ravage would round out 20 points exactly, but if I choose a Bayou Gremlin instead then I can afford some upgrades. I'm thinking that healing flips would be a very good thing with only 4 models that like to hurt themselves. What do you think?
  9. Since you can cheat from the top of your fate deck, can't you keep drawing cards until you are winning the duel or draw the Black Joker? and if you have the Black joker in your hand ...
  10. My gaming group mostly plays Warmachine but many of us have Malifaux crews and I was hoping to inspire some more Malifaux mischief with a league that would introduce the rules and play. Are there some guidelines for a slow growth or journeyman style league in Malifaux? Thanks
  11. Can you cheat in a strike duel (or opposed duel) if you are winning? We always played that you can't but we can't find the rule. Thanks
  12. I figured that I would take Som'er as the master to get the pigs and Ophelia as a henchman to make a smaller gunline work.
  13. One of our best players uses the Dreamer as his master and I was hoping for some tactical advice. In our last game, he flew into a building (no roof) but out of my LOS on his first turn. On his second, he flew closer unburied 2 Teddies, and other nightmares that will power dueled my young LaCroix to death, turned into Lord Crompy bits which proceeded to rip apart my crew. I was running Ophelia, Pere Ravage, Francisco, 3 young LaCroix, Rami and the rest were Bayou Gremlins. I did manage to kill one Teddy but after Ophelia was ripped apart by Lord Crompy Bits and Pere failed his terror test (and his rally flip - damn that black joker) it was pretty much all over. Because this was a tournament I was limited as to which models I could recruit for my crew, but I do own all of the different Gremlin models so what would you suggest? I thought about a pigapult launching 3 piglets/stuffed piglets on that first turn when he flies into range and out of LOS, but wouldn't he just burn soulstones to defeat my attack or prevent damage and then still fly into my grill and dump his terror causing, will power dueling badness into my kin? Of course having him use 3+ soulstones on the first turn might make a difference.
  14. My gaming group is seeking a different gaming experience (mostly 40K and WFB players) and when I suggested Mordheim one suggested Malifaux. I checked out this site and am hooked on the bizarreness of the miniatures. So I was wondering if there is a henchman in our area that would like to introduce the game to us. We generally play at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in central California on Friday nights and that's when you could teach the largest number of us.
