  1. Does anyone have an NPC Character sheet. Something to track info for your custom NPC's on, stats, health, maybe a place to write notes on?
  2. again thank you for everyone who has made a reply. all the thoughts are great i can see the reasoning behind them all. and thank you for the links to pics. i do agree having seen that board that a touch of a limited selection of colors gives a very nice visual effect. i'll have to experiment a bit with this. i am thinking that you will not be able to enter the buildings, so this will be a nice place to hide electronics, HO train saves the day again. i would like to make flat roof's. as i have always loved the visuals of people jumping from rooftop to rooftop to make their escape/chase. this will take quite a bit of planning, as i would like to take a nice visual board, but at the same time making it properly playable for malifaux. in my experience the game does require a specific amount of LOS blocking terrain as well as contain all the proper elements for all of the potential scenarios. (to much and melee heavy crews can dominate or people with many los powers suffer (i.e. kirari and colette respectively), to little and the ortegas shoot people to pieces regardless of mission and i do have an ortega player and this was learned the hard way one day when we were lazy about terrain) this board won't be done soon or quickly. i do intend to take my time with this but all the posts have helped quite a bit to get me started.
  3. those are both great suggestions. ok, with those thoughts in mind, i'm actually going to start by doing a 2 x 2 board. this way i can expand and do 4 separate 2x2 boards to make a somewhat modular 4x4. the idea of actual working lighting is awesome, so i will be definitely including this into the plan. on the thought of adding a touch of sepia, that is also a nice option while keeping the monochrome concept. i do like black and white but perhaps i can combine the two ideas and use red lighting or something to give a very sinister tint to a black and white city. or perhaps green for that eerie unnatural look. i'll experiment with different led's and lots of texture to cast shadows and highlights... got it. thanks for the great feedback, its given me a great place to start. any other thoughts are always welcome
  4. i was looking to build a 4 x 4 table for malifaux. i have decided on a city build (streets, buildings, appropriate blocking terrain). i have a layout roughly setup that i think would make for a pretty balanced setup but i ran into the issue of how to color said table. i am a big fan of film noir and black and white films and i was wondering if anyone had tried making the entire gaming table black and white. i'm not talking about just white boxes on a black street, but actually shading, and having everything painted, inked, lined and what not.. just all in the monochrome. has anyone tried this, and if so how did it turn out. was it nice, was it very bland looking and i should ditch the idea and just paint it normally? just looking for feedback on anyone who has tried a black and white movie style paint scheme or terrain piece.
  5. i recently got in my order for the gaki. in it was 2 bases, 2 sets of arms, 2 cards... and 1 body. did i just get lucky and get extra bits or is this a packing error and there should be 2 bodies in it. and if it is a packing error how do i go about getting it fixed.
