it is all in the timing of the end closing phase, levi suffers a wound at the start closing phase and hollow waifs are summoned at the end of the closing phase so levi would have suffered before the waifs would be on the board so none of them would be next turn. remember you can always use a soulstone to try and wound prevent the wound he would suffer

with the change of bully to ruffian you can now have candy or the brutal effigy give hamelin a healing flip or have the arcane effigy give him an extra casting ap. for totems the best ones are either the wretch or the primordial magic. there are also night terrors or canine remains which are fast models for objectives

make sure you have the v3 version of levis card, blessing of desolation states after killing enemy defender so you cannot kill your own hollow waifs or levi to get spas

in duels both players flip a card and the player with the lowest total (card + stat) cheats and decides whether to use a soulstone first, then the player who started with the highest total. if the losing player doesnt cheat and the winning player does the losing player cannot react, its a risk you have to take. it is different with spells however, the player casting the spell flips starting total, then cheats and soulstones and decides final total before the other player even cheats.
