  1. Thats pretty much what I was thinking although I am hoping for the others, heh.
  2. question about Willie's ability, his rule is: Wheelbarrow of Doom: During each walk action after the first this model performs in an activation this model may interrupt the move to place two (Blast) touching but not overlapping its base. Models touched by one or both of the (Blast) must win a DF-12 Duel or suffer 3 damage. So what I was wondering about this was: Are they 2 separate (blast) that both need to touch his base or is it a (Blast)(Blast) chain, where one (Blast) touches Willie and the second touches the first? If they are separate do they both need to be placed at the same time or can you interrupt your move more than once? I assume Willie is also affected since he is touched by the blast as well? He has great armor against blasts and will only take one wound but I don't see anything that would make him immune to his own blasts. Is that correct?
  3. Sounds correct to me. The first two are for the Avatar Her basic card, manifestation, and all of her abilities, there are two many to just fit on one card. The other card is used for the decoys after they have been revealed.
  4. The blue ones might be perfect for when I start Rasputina and all the winter models.
  5. I was referring to the feel of the clockwork automaton that is in the opera and its similarities to the creations that are in Malifaux, like the mannequins. The automatons have a steampunk feel not necessarily the whole opera. However the last time I worked on "The Tales of Hoffman" that scene had a very steampunk feel to it, the singer even got old metal roller skates and rolled around instead of walking. I had to create lots of interesting looking machines and gears to decorate Spalanzani's lab with as well, it was a lot of fun to make life size steampunk instead of in miniature. The stories of his other two loves were decidedly not steampunk though.
  6. It is in reference to a book titled "Der Sandmann" which was written by Hoffman, on of the characters is named coppelius. The story refers to the Sandman who steals childrens eyes to feed his own children on the moon. Or it could refer to an opera "The Tales of Hoffman" which is also based on "Der Sandman", however Coppelius in this story sells eyes to Hoffman to use in the robotic girl he is making. The opera has a more steampunk feel to it so it might be from that one however the model has more of a feel from the book. Wyrd does this a lot with their minis there are a lot of classical references within their game. I don't think there is any real reason game wise for this connection other than that.

  8. The Micro Mark company now sells 3D rivets in O and HO scales that come on decal paper. You cut them out and soak them and slip them on just like decals, but instead of image they have plastic rivets on them. They are great for applying whole lines of rivets and make it very fast. The sheet also comes with a variety of circular rivet patterns. Check it out: http://www.micromark.com/o-scale-decals-with-raised-3d-rivets-and-other-surface-details,9967.html

  11. So Ramos activates simultaneously with his mobile tool kit. Ramos does all his stuff and as his last action uses controlled detonation on himself. So normally the totem would dissappear when Ramos does but since it activated simultaneously would it get to complete it's activation before dying? I mean supposedly it was doing stuff before Ramos blew up.
  12. I believe Carl is referring to an instance recently in one of my games. So here is the set up: Player one is using a spell or trigger in which player 2 has to discard 2 cards or the model will die. Before deciding wether or not to use this ability player one asks player two how many cards he has left. Player 2's hand was laying in a pile on table from where he sat it down after last cheat and you couldn't tell from it how many cards there were. So the question is wether player two has to announce how many cards he has left in his hand and help player one make his decision and possibly kill his model. Or can he protect his hand and and not let player one know if he will kill the model or not before he decides to use his ability. After all chance is part of the game, you wouldn't ask your opponent if he had cards high enough to beat your casting total. I view it like poker and you protect your hand, you don't actively hide your hand, you spread it out and look at it when "cheating", but you don't have to tell your opponent what you have left (after all I was player two and only had one card left).
  13. Maybe they were magically enhanced!
