  1. It's been a while since I've been around these parts. I see a whole new look, picked up the whole new book, that at the 3rd one. I haven't picked up my Lucious Figure in ages, he always looks so sad whenever I open the briefcase. But alas, through spite, anger, betrayal, and all the other stuff that makes a good guild story. I have returned. Mostly because I forgot how fun the game was. I forgot Sonnia Criid, and Lady J. So what has happened to the guild in my stead? I've been gone for a long while, is Perdita still ranked top Guild Leader? is Sonnia and Lucious still massively underused and under appreciated? And what are these Witchling Handlers I keep hearing about? I read their stats and that just seems sick and wrong. Witchlings with Sonnia were already borderline diabolic, and now you give them a bunch of buffs? I love it. Also the Guild Rifleman? read a little about that, found out that Lucious has an even easier time holding the line against scum of malifaux. But those are just my two masters that I like, what else have I missed?
  2. T.T I hope this is the case, but I think it was my hysterical ravings about this very topic that might of inspired the idea. I hope this is just an echo from my past that decided to poke at me some more. Oh... the day Sonnia Criid leaves the guild is possibly the day I give up on Malifaux. Yes it's an interesting Story Development and going in circles with already developed characters is boring for the writers but you have Tons of fun stuff you can do with the characters that doesn't involve switching their alignments :[ I'm too proud to play without Guild Guard...
  3. isn't Red Joker +2? I mean you flip red, you instantly do severe plus one, then you flip another because you did severe.
  4. lmao, oh god! Hopkins and Ryle are shooting me to death! quick close the gap! engage in melee! ...oh god no! Witchling stalkers are now eating my face off and after I killed one they all exploded and killed half my crew! oh god Sonnia! Now the other half of my crew are dressed like witchling stalkers are punching me! ...oh... good times.. ^.^
  5. I do something close to that during One Crew Tournaments. I take the Governors Proxy and atleast one witchling. If I'm going against a crew that don't use WP I use Witching to hit the Proxy. Do not trigger Criticmual Strike, minimum 2 dmg, then violation. 2 point model into a 4 point model. If you don't have the in your hand, just use a soulstone. 3 point into 4 points is just as good.
  6. I'm the Lucius Player Sandwhich was talking about :] [[.don't know if that means anything, I made the Lucius Tatica if you want to take a look the guys in that thread have alot of usefull ideas too.]] Anyway Personally, whether I take him as a Master or a Henchman really depends on my mood lol. As a Henchman he's mostly Support. Reinforcements, Guild Intelligence. Combine it with the Watcher that says to look at the top two cards, you can take a good grip on your hand and fate date. As a Master he's, well... alot of things, I play him more as a Master and I still find things that surprise me with him alone. Personally when you run him alone 5 models make a large difference. 1 Guild Guard Captain 4 Guild Guard. It seems costly, I know, and it may not have the range of the Austringers but just follow me on this one. You activate Lucius, His Totem, and the Guard Captain. His totem does whatever, then depending on the situation Lucius or the Captain will activate. the Captain will make it so a single guardsman activates after he does... then, Patrol. (2) activate 3 guardsman. This is where your alpha strike comes in. Not only are you beating people with the Captain, but now before any retaliation, 3 guardsman start taking shots, or swings. Positioning is pretty important though. Another thing you might want to try is taking Lawyers, Censure, Cross Examination, Defense and Closing Arguments are ALL spells I use all the time. Especially defense on the Captain, Hard to Wound 3 with Armor 1, Ten wounds!? Just run his fat ass in there and start swinging with that Axe! Or Menece, Ca 8 with 10" range, yes; please! lol Personally I never take Ryle with Lucius, he Never pulls his own weight unless his brother is around. Also Lucius/Hoffman is brutal but that's a whole nother story lol, and so he just becomes an 8 point sink that soaks up bullets but when they find out I don't do anything with him besides 1-6 damage depending on the flip then the threat is defanged, and then ignored. anyway... sorry for the rant hope that helps.
  7. New Hamelin and Ramos: impossible, Ht 1 and insignificant only. Old Hamelin and Ramos: decent, but then again All Living Models take 1 Wd, and a double obay on one target is ALWAYS good.
  8. When I saw this I assumed he fought Andrew. Andrews loss would not only explain his early arrival home, but it would also explain why he didn't play anything besides Never Winter Nights, then slept.
  9. what's the point of giving +2 Ca if you can't cast your spells? Just make him duel focused like Jack Daw, or the Viks. As it stands if I refuse to add a suit I get +2 Ca and Immune to Influence. Which is cool, but without a suit in my cast and without a mechanic to look at my deck, I'm burning a soulstone, to gain a suit, not to add to my cast as none of his spells have Rst, or deal damage or need necessarily high cards. I'd just drop that mechanic. Plus it'd give you alot nore room in the stat card too lol
  10. I had an awesome thought for the new special forces for the guild! I figure since everyone else is letting their creativity run wild I'd figure why not tell the Guild Players. Special Forces (The Forgiven) they're ALL neverborn. Original Inhabitants given a second chance at redemtion by becoming an elite squad of shock troops, sent in first for those more dangerous missions. Not sure what the mechanic theme would be but I know what their Henchman would have lol Being a former prisoner of the guild and then being transformed into the leader of an elite squad will mess with anyone up emotionally Emotional Repression: This model can not make melee or range strike action during his activation. and Rehabilitate/Re-educate: This model may not use soulstones during his activation or during a melee or ranged strike action. plus the Guild would never allow something/someone they didn't trust entirely with the use of soulstones, hence he can only use them defensively. IE damage mitigation, and defense flips. given that several of his lesser minions can effectively give their AP to him to force him to make a melee/ranged strike I believe it's a super interesting mechanic and I'd love to see that implemented. induce discussion please? lol
  11. Also! One question. Does ANYONE use Hidden Sniper? The damage is awful, the cast is his melee combat, you NEED ram. the Range is good and not needing LoS is good but is it Worth ALL THAT? I play Lucius All the time, and I've honestly tried it only once or twice. One time with the 13 :rams against someone I just hit with Closing Argument, and then dropped the red joker and killed him. But I could've easily have done that with Advance Training and Issue Command
  12. the Guard to Captain ratio is going to mess you up :\ or at least it messes me up in that numbering. Activate Lucius and two Captains and the Drill Sergeant with Companion. With "Officer" you active Two Guards, now your third is left to do whatever. Normally I run with 4 Guardsman to One Captain. That way you activate Lucius and One Captain, use the captain ability and then Patrol. Therefor you active Lucius, Guild Guard Captain and 3 Guardsman and the Drill Sergeant. a lot more bang for your buck that way. [[.Also side note, because I'm an Enormous Military Nerd! the Fluff behind my set-up is 1 Platoon Leader (female mold with alternate paint) 3 Platoon Members, and the Guard Captain. <,< also, ask Hippieshopper about 1st and 2nd Platoon. Because sometimes I run with both. But mostly I run with the 2nd Platoon, they're battle hardened and have proven themselves more useful for some reason lol.]]
  13. oh my god.. I see it... I $$$$$$$$ING SEE IT!! lol those are rather amazingly similar I'll admit.
  14. 8 Mechanical Rider 8 Hooded Rider 9 ????? 10 Dead Rider all four horseman and Leveticus, 35 points exactly. They planned this out far in advance lol
