  1. I think you'll find intent is also for spells, or else channeling would never have been mentioned in the text. Sometimes you have to play with the spirit of the inferred intent. That's why I avoid tourneys, because they'd just stress me rather than make me enjoy a game. Hopefully we'll get the clarified response back from Wyrd on this after intent has been properly checked.
  2. Has anyone had good success with Filla-Glu? I found that it stell let me down on a fair few minis.
  3. Thanks Nathan Caroland for getting back to me on this video. I did indeed take you up on that offer and put the video on here. Glad you liked the sentiment of what I'm trying to achieve Sir. As I mention in the video itself, Malifaux is the game I am currently playing as my "alternative". And it has been an endearing system that keeps me smiling.
  4. Yeah, it was speculation using logic really, just to say that I didn't notice anything different that stood out to make them unique other than of course the images themselves on each card. Pointing this out was simply me using fair journalism to report what I see. You're right though, there might indeed be a reason they come into play via the image itself on card. I'm really looking forward to playing it. I do also enjoy my plastic deck, because there's so much variety. I was just happy to show a video though of the entire deck nice and clearly filmed so people could see what they're getting and decide what they want. Hope this vid helped some of you.
  5. Hey guys, I've been busy on YouTube again, this time making a video challenging people's awareness of other games. For people who think that Warhammer is the only system that exists (and they are the majority of paying gamers still) and that is why I wanted to get people's awareness out there, for other games just like Malifaux and the rest. If this video strikes a good chord with you and you agree with what I'm saying, please pass it on to anyone who you think could benefit from it as well. [ame] [/ame]
  6. Cool, thanks for watching and pointing out the dot thing. I never ever would have spotted that, which when you consider it isn't a good thing... I really just wanted to make a vid that doesn't take ages to watch and shows you the cards nice and clearly so that the viewer can make up his own mind if he likes them. I will add an annotation to the video about the dots.
  7. I have made a YouTube video showing you exactly what you get in the Puppet Wars plastic deck. Check it out here on YouTube - [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVyvlJHEzI4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVyvlJHEzI4[/ame]
  8. Thanks for the help so far guys. You've prompted me into action! I was unaware that I was getting stuck into that situation at Scibor! thankyou for notifying me. I was under the impression that it was merely a base insert that would simply fit into my normal round lipped base. As the picture on the website though not round lipped was black plastic and not resin. I assume they are either attached or not compatable with the standard round lipped we got with our minis? I've contacted Scibor to let them know that I want to change that out of my order anyway. We'll see how helpful they are on this. I asked that instead of messing around with refunds and repaying again that they just replace the 40mm's with a set of those mask conversion parts. They are the same price. That way my order will now have two lots of those mask conversion parts. The 30mm's they sell do have the round lipped notification on at least. Bah, pretty crummy of them though. They should call it what we know it as - round lipped, and be specific about what you are actually buying. This is their fault. As for the link Amarel, thankyou. I like the look of http://www.elodiemae.com/mall/productpage.cfm/elodiemae/_HALLSO001/311718/Hall%27s%20of%20Silence perhaps as one to mix things up a bit. Perhaps the cherub can have that one.
  9. Hi. Yeah, I went with Scibor's extra masks that TheCSpider mentioned. I'll see what I can do about emulating the look in greenstuff. perhaps I could try pressing it against the resin ones I've already got for broken off pieces of ground.
  10. Plasticard perhaps? Even that is probably not buckle free though. I've seen one piece do it once.
  11. Me likey. The idea has my support.
  12. Hey all. Well, I got into malifaux from all the hype surrounding it on other mini gaming forums. One thing led to another and now the dirty affair with Wyrd minis is upon me! I'm quite a creative person, whatever avenue that happens to take me in at the time. Story writing, video making, songwriting, scripts, all sorts. You can actually keep abreast with whatever I'm doing at my personal creative output blog here - http://robert-james-freemantle.blogspot.com/ I play Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Mordheim tabletop games, a couple of card games and Warhammer Fantasy tabletop PnP RPG (WHFRP 2nd edition). (Which is why I would indeed love a Malifaux RPG!) In Malifaux I've decided to start with the Neverborn. I'm always the side that's trying to kill off humanity whatever the game. I went with Lillith to start with because I got some good concepts in mind for how to do them. I could use any help you could give though, on my two topics in the hobby/painting section. One where I try to work out the colours to use for their skin and one where I ask about resin bases. I won't make a move until I know what I'm doing. Looking forward to hanging out with likeminded people here and enjoy this new game. Rob
  13. Hi all. I've been giving some deep thought to how I want my Lillith's brood to look. You might have seen the thread I made about the Nephilim skin previously. In this topic I'm trying to sort out if the ideas I've had for basing them will work or not. This is going to be my first time using resin bases so I'm a little extra nervous. What I'm thinking is for the Nephilim to be defending a ruins type area, a place that was once a sacred temple to the Neverborn, before they became corrupted. I do believe I would call it the Temple of Echoes. its true powers being unknown to any humans who discover it. I have been looking around at resin base sites and while dragonforge do a nice looking ruins set, what has caught my eye is the Scibor range. It's hard to find everything you want in 30mm. If it was 25mm then I'd have a huge choice. Anyway, I like the look of these 40mm ones - http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=704 and these 40mm ones - http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=698 They seem to have the right tone I'd be looking for and in my opinion suit the Nephilim's concept to a T! Obviously I'd put my two 'Young Nephilim' on them. Now, from looking at the range here - http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?group=73 you'll see they don't do any of the ancient ruins ones in 30mm or 50mm. That leaves me to consider this set of 30mm's - http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=686 Because I can of course paint them all to match in colour with the 40mm's as seen above. This brings me to my first question. Do you think it would work out okay gluing some extras like these resin base fillers http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=872 or http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=873 to the above linked 30mm's? Any practical considerations I should know about based on resin to resin or the two types of shapes + fitting model? If it was to be a problem, I suppose I could put a base filler on a standard base and then build the base up around it, with overgrown effects... Then I have to take into consideration quite how I'm going to be producing the 50mm models. You'll see that choice there is really limited! Saying that, I did find one such base - http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=732 The top left picture verifies that this too keeps with the broken mask faces effect. But the real question is, looking at that base, its upper flat section seems like its more suited to accomodate a smaller mini. A mature Nephilim's legs are spaced rather wide, seemingly taking up entire 50mm bases. Therefore on this base it would be slanted, one foot on the higher part perhaps, another lower in a gap between the rocks somewhere. But in practical terms I'm wondering if this will work, even if I pin it. What do you think of this whole thing? Do-able?
  14. I have been thinking about how I want Lillith and her brood to look. I hate painting "human" skin. When I play something tainted, I want it to look tainted, right through to its bones. I'm loving the look of the ones I see on the site here, such as the tots - http://wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16191&cat=261&page=1 The mature - http://wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16192&cat=261&page=1 and the tiny image of Lillith here - http://wyrd-games.net/shop/images/T/th_Lilith-thumb.jpg even though when you follow the latter's link it takes you to one not painted in that style. Anyway, a chap called James Wappel appears to be behind the paintjob I like. Any idea what he used? Or how I can find him to ask? I like subtle muted dark colours, so even the brown/olive robes on the mature are perfect, along with the hair being grey/white type tones. I don't particularly want to go down the route of flame below and heat/light reflections, but the skin, well my heart is set on it now...
