  1. That's always nice to hear. The ol' Taxis are still my most recognized stuff, and I still have people telling me that they liked them and that they inspired them. They certainly made an impact on me and my evolving painting style, and it good to see they impacted some others in a small way also.
  2. Old faces seem to be coming out of the woodwork with the release of Malifaux. It very very nice to see Pensfan again. The Ortegas are looking nice and should serve you well.
  3. I don't think the gun is really alien looking. More overwrought and baroque. Just the kind of fashion statement your average steam punk, heavy weapon wielding, Victorian lady would like to make. The Smartmax stuff tends to be real hit or miss with me, but this one is a hit IMO.
  4. Wow, Werner really mailed it on on that beetle rider didn't he? The beholder guy is pretty cool though. I can't recall having ever seen one with an anus before
  5. Ugh, I think they are awful. I much prefer the current style skaven. The new ones are all hunch backed, squished faced and generic feeling. But at least these ones didn't end up with gigantic freaking hands like the old ones.
  6. Oh these are just cool. Some of the best stuff Impact has done. I hope these are at Gencon, as I would love to pick them up.
  7. I like the warlord for the most part. I however have an embargo on all minis containing gratuitous severed heads (my most hated miniatures cliche). Otherwise I would have probably bought him because he is really cool otherwise. The amazon just isn't my thing.
  8. Hey Bex do you know if FFG is releasing, or putting out early, any thing cool this year? I was kicking myself for not getting Red November last year, and I don't want to do something similar this year. Ad Astra maybe? I suppose it is to much to hope for a really really early pre release of Middle Earth Quest
  9. Looks like I'll be paying a visit to the Reaper booth. Who am I to resist that?
  10. I liked the Hamelin sculpt too.... until I actually got it and held it in my hands. It is far to small far to fiddly and has pretty poor detail. I really do think it might be the worst Wyrd sculpt still being sold (may the bowling vampire rest in peace). It really is a testament to the brilliance of official paint job that it can make the mini look halfway decent. Personally hope they the do remake him (crosses fingers for a Buddle version). Conceptually Hamelin is awesome, but the execution in the current mini is lacking.
  11. Having now painted most of the box sets, of those three, I would say Nicodem. That group's models just have so much character, especially Nicodem, and Mortimer. For me they really offered up the most in painting enjoyment (after a very fiddly construction phase on the zombies). Pandora's group is OK. I think there biggest down side is that they are so small they really offer less area for a painter to go nuts. To me the only piece that really stands up in a big way is the avatar form. But If you looking to do some cools special effect this would be a pretty good choice. I'm not crazy about the Victorias. For me one fo the best aspects of painting on the group/crew/army scale is that you crate something that looks like it all belongs together. I like stuff that doesn't look like a bunch of individuales that are stuck together, I like them all to really like that belong together visually. All the models in the Victorias group are so different that I will be difficult to bring that cohesive feel to them. Over all my favorites have been Nicodem, Lilith, and the Witchhunters. But I rather liked the Beastmasters, and Seamus too.
  12. So no more shorting of your name to FF? That may be tough to get over, but I think I can make the adjustment.
  13. Wow this is very cool. I started the whole model and miniatures thing back in the day with military and historical models. Shep Paine is a legend in that arena. It will be interesting to hear him speak, especially concerning our little gaming side of the larger hobby. I'm going to try and make some time for this.
  14. The monkey looks like he could be interesting. So these will be ready for Gencon then? I'll definitely have to make it a point to pay your both a visit this year, somehow I missed it last year.
  15. Is it just me, or have most of these "new characters" been out for years now?
