Punk Zombies A & B Necropunks A & B So thats Molly (15SS), two Punk Zombies (7SS each), and two necropunks (5SS each) for a total of 39SS painted! Still have half a month to go! 5. Finished Snow Storm bring my current total to 26ss so far this month. This model had several joint/mold lines that I "thought" I covered with green stuff but it turns out my skills there are rusty to say the least...

  6. Corner deploy on something that you need to book it to the other side of the map to do a 2 AP interact against a hoard of glass cannons... gross. Whelp, out of my arsenal that means Mei. Mei Feng, +1 SS Seismic Claws (1) Seize the Day (1) Vapormancy (1) Mechanical Rider (12) Arcane Effigy (4) Mechanized Porkchop (7) Emberling (3) Carlos Vasquez (9) Stunt Devil (1) Imbued Energies (1) Soulstone Miner (6) Malifaux Raptor (3) Need Mei's Vent Steam to defend from those guns/pigapult as I push into his side of the board. Need speed to get over there and drop those markers. Soulstone Miner for claim markers. Mech rider for speed to drop markers, durability and more guys (guys I'll be willing to self kill if they are getting accused). Carlos for Show of Force bid, solid durability. Bird to stall that one guy that got away from me or mess with the pigapult if they let me. And then some staples of my Mei play style for the rest, staples that can also do any of the interact needs of this pool in addition to the normal reasons I like them. Accusation (if they have bodies), Mark for Death (Carlos can hang out and mark them), Show of Force (if they don't have a ton of Upgrades), Frame for Muder (whoever) are all ok...ish options for schemes.

  8. Hey, hows it going? I am brand new to malifaux. So much so that i have yet to play my first game. I have settled on playing the dreamer. And have picked up his crew box. The closest store to me that carries more then one or two crew boxs is a 2 hour drive each way. But i am making the drive this weekend to pick up at least the rule book and a fate deck. But to make my drive worth it i wanna pick up a bunch of the stuff i would use in both summoning and beats dreamer lists. I know i wanna pick up. INSIDIOUS MADNESSES, STITCHED TOGETHER, LELU & LILITU, DOPPLEGANGER, TEDDY, WILL O' THE WISPS, BANDERSNATCH. Is there anything else i should look at getting. Also is what i listed ok? Thanks for your help.

  9. So getting back into Malifaux from my extended hiatus. Painting some models here and there and just getting more models to play with for 10T. Just to get a start on posting more painted models: Also, having trouble with how I left Misaki's paint scheme. What's a good paint strip for Malifaux models? A bit afraid to use PineSol on it as it might intereact negatively to Wyrd's type of plastic.

  10. for the standing up one, I glued the right spirit (when looking at him from the front) onto the model. The arm that touches the middle spirit got glued onto the middle spirit. Then I painted the two spirits separate from the rest of the model and each other. With some fiddling (and a few terrifying moments of feeling like I was going to break his belt off) I managed to get the whole thing together. Only required some minor touch ups to hide the gaps and scraps from forcing it together.

  12. This, so much this. The squatting down Goryo has the distinction of being the only model I've managed to accidentally TOTALLY DESTROY while trying to do final assembly. I thought leaving the ghosts off would make painting easier "and I could just put them on later!"... no. No you cannot put them on later.

  13. There is also reason 4, because the designers want to show that the model/action is affiliated to that suit.

  14. prize support (based on 12 players store credit is for the Outpost who have 20% off rrp as standard) 1st £20 store credit +2extra scrip (makes it up to 3 as your supposed to get) 2nd £15 store credit 3rd £10 store credit favourite painted £5 store credit favourite opponent £5 store credit last place wooden spoon and £5 store credit but wait there's more... everyone gets a scrip and a raffle ticket (rrp £1) the raffle consists of large mystery box, two small mystery box and the choice of the foil cards I have (I think I've Seamus, Rasputina and Leveticus it's pretty much the 16 player kit) extra raffle tickets are £1, which I use to offset the $44ish courier costs.

  15. Thanks prof ....It's all a giant experiment to be honest as entering this competition got me really looking to see how other people get their results...so last month I bought some Vallejo glazing medium...the figure was primed black then lots of thin layers of color were built up leaving it darker towards the edges of each item of clothing with it almost pure black where the shirt hits the jacket, the jacket hits the cape etc...the definition on the model itself is very crisp so that helped a lot

  16. Well they might be appropriate if you often face gremlins and want to show your opponent your desired outcome of the game
    1 point
  17. the arm dangling is moulded into the mouth the jumping over is a separate part, you can leave it off (and a lot of people do because it's tiny!) the third one comes with two heads, one with the gremlin moulded into its mouth and one with just an open mouth, no gremlin involved. I've used the gremlin-eating one and will use the spare as a swampy terrain piece maybe.

  18. Update: I added and/or potentially changed a few models on my list this month. Specifically, more things I can take with Lucius for a tournament later this month. So, a WIP of my Wardens with my Guild Seargent, Brutal Effigy, Doppleganger, and two converted Changelings from the Mysterious Emissary. Also may get to the Sonia Avatar as the Brutal Emissary, but not suuuuuuper likely.

  20. My understanding is, she would still be a legal target, even if she would be outside of LoS due to pushes (because shooting into engagements ignores some LoS rules and the targets are determined at the start of You Were Told to Duck). I've got more! Parker charges into a Shen Long's Peasant, shoots some markers out of him and places them 2.0001" away from the centerline. The Peasant dies, Parker gets Stick Up and goes to engage the second Peasant. Next turn, I win initiative, kill the second Peasant and Hands in the Air Sensei Yu and some other dude. Turned out my opponent wasn't going for Claim Jump, but was aiming to Set Up my Montresor. The marker I shot out of the second Peasant was further than 4" away from Monty, but prevented him from putting down more markers around. And guess what my opponent didn't have when it was time to airburst some markers towards Monty? That's right, cards in hand! Other fun moments came when a low-hp Tara dumped a Killjoy into the Hail of Bullets (I managed to block a very narrow chokepoint there) so he could activate and spray her with some Black Blood, and then a scheme marker beside her exploded for some major damage. Ah, those were the days.

  24. If you have the models for Karina's summoning I think she is fine (and its a good excuse to start Ressers anyway). Otherwise your most effective build depends, as always, on the strat and scheme pool. Beyond that its a matter of taste. Want to beast bomb? Get a Death Marshal and a second beater (Killjoy, Bishop, D-Engine...even the Scion). Want to go aggresivd bury? Get a Death Marshal, Hannah, Wretches, NB, Aionus and go to town. Want to run full support? Get a bunch of our 6-8 ss models like the Librarian, Johann, Convict Gunslinger, and Sue then go to town.

  25. I would add that if you bring Johan giving him Numb makes sense as Rebel Yell is an attack action so he can`t target himself with it. With Numb he`s immune.

  26. Looking at this map and corner deployment, I see that one of the MVPs for the strategy will be Soulstone Miners. There's good blocking/concealing terrain near each corner, which provides a spot for the Soulstone Miner to unbury at the end of Turn 1 to Stake a Claim starting in Turn 2. This looks so tempting, that I'm almost inclined to take two of them. 12 stones to potentially get 4VP is a steal. The problem is that Gremlins have a number of things they could do, including pigapulting stuff up the field so that they can go reckless and drop markers in my half as fast as possible. This same problem tells me to not try for Claim Jump. However, Accusation! could be useful, especially if I'm doing it as a (0) against flung Gremlins trying to score the strategy. That would wash those VP (potentially, assuming no ties: they don't remove Accuse, but score Stake, I cannot score Stake, but score Accuse; they remove Accuse, don't score Stake, I don't score Accuse but get Stake). Frame For Murder would also be good. If Francois or Wong go after that Soulstone Miner I already mentioned, that's 3VP for me. If Burt nukes it, only 2. Sounds like an argument for a second Soulstone Miner, put the non-Frame one nearer to Burt if he's present and force him to deal with it or let me work the Strategy. Mainly sounds good because that's 12 stones shooting for 7VP. Which brings us to the last two. Mark For Death is an interact and kill kind of scheme, which similar to Accusation! is guiding my Master pick towards Colette, but the controller in me wants to dial it up a notch beyond what Colette can do with regards to the Strategy--she cannot deny it as readily as Sandeep can. If nothing else, I can get those Marks out in a hurry on things that come into my half and collect them up. Show of Force requires getting some non-master models with 1+ cost upgrades up into the middle of the board to hold ground for 3 turns with greater than or equal to the number of opposing non-master 1+ cost upgrades near the center. If only there was a way for Arcanists to do this, right? So that leans me into: Sandeep Desai (Arcane Reservoir, To Behold Another World, Unaligned Sage) (full cache) Carlos Vasquez (Stunt Double, Warding Runes) Kudra (Free of Mortal Shackles, Warding Runes) Oxfordian Mage (Temporary Shielding, Blood Ward) Soulstone Miner Soulstone Miner Rail Worker I know at first glance there will be some "what is this blasphemy!" urge, but here's the thinking. The Soulstone Miners can work the Strategy. If my opponent brings killing Henchmen/Masters, one of them gets Frame for Murder and spends its life acting like it's working the strategy while drawing fire. Sandeep summons in a Chattering Gamin to deny my opponent their own play on the Strategy. If they're flinging Gremlins up the table or darting them up the slow(er) way with reckless, that's fine. There will be a chatterbox waiting for them in Turn 2. This chatterbox can also potentially help with Accusation!/Marked For Death defense and Accusation! scoring. Who ends up chattering will depend on opposing crew composition. The Rail Worker, Oxfordian Mage, Kudra, and Carlos can all kill scheme runners. The slowest melee one in the group can try to copy Sandeep's place to give itself an approximately 15" threat. The other two are absurdly fast without needing to borrow Sandeep's abilities. They play into the idea of summoning a Gamin that can interact when summoned to hand out a condition to a model it happens to be summoned near. Blood Ward makes the two frontline Henchmen immune to Accusation! and Marked for Death, which makes putting them in the middle of the table for Show of Force less of a liability. The Oxfordian Mage can also feed off of Sandeep and Kudra early game (corner deployment) to help do things like push the Rail Worker up the field to better threaten in Turn 2, while providing a 'gun' platform that can also get into Melee if needed. The Blood Mage and Rail Worker can also work together to limit the amount of VP an obvious Frame For Murder target awards the Gremlin player, either by arranging for it to die by burning (Shovel Faster might find use to soften someone up to die by burning). These two Henchmen are an interesting take into Frame For Murder because they give out conditions with their attacks--which can completely negate the FFM scheme if pulled off. Just make sure you don't kill the target outright until you've identified the FFM patsy or know that your opponent didn't take FFM. At which point, let these two bully the center. Sandeep's summoning won't be relying on Banasuva's threat and additional force multipliers, instead the focus is getting Gamin on the table that can get things done. The Gamin that comes in ready to interact will depend on whether you go with Accusation! or Marked For Death. If you want to get tricksy with Accusation!, for instance, you can use the Wind Gamin to plant the Accusation, Kudra to "kill" the Wind Gamin with a (0), Wind Gamin self-sacrifice to push a Soulstone Miner into a new position to stake another claim, and do it all again in the next turn. If instead you are going with Marked For Death, Banasuva might drop in to Mark someone, then Melee Expert to collect on it (card intense, but done within a single activation after summoning, first time will be a surprise). Otherwise, you drop in Gamin of choice, Mark your target, then let the Oxfordian Mage and/or Rail Worker kill it. I recommend Wind Gamin because of the Soulstone Miner thing I already mentioned.

  28. Stake a claim - that shouts Marcus to me. And Lets go a little abstract. Marcus- Arcane resevoir, Gods Domain Imbued energies(3) Spawn Mother -Imbuied energies Pack leader(11) Blessed of December - Well rehersed (10) Cerberus (imbued) (10) Silurid (7) Jackolope (2) Gupps (4) Every thing benefits from the Spawn mother increasing Cg. Whilst it starts off as a small list, it can get Gupps fairly easily, probably expecting to get me 2 gupps in turn 3. Frame for murder on Cerberus or Blessed is an option, depending on what I face. I have several upgrades so can threaten Show of force, but I'd only pick it if I think the spawn motehr could score it herself. I should be able to get accusation fairly easily, I'm not great at mark for death, btu the crew does a reasonable mix of interract and hit. Claim jump is probably easy to get due to the length of the center line. I've gone with the defensive Marcus for 2 reasons. Firstly, he gets Cg10, so beign able to do that for a 1 makes him pretty fast, and reg gen and bonus df should keep him being akwward all game long. I would definetly consider him charging my own crew (probably Gupps or Jackolope) for his first Ap if I thought it would get me to charge an enemy during the activation. With this he does have a 26" threat on turn 1, without having to burn imbued, so a good chance he can at least engage if not also kill a scheme runner or two. (on a dream first turn after I chareg my Jackolope I'll be in a posiiton to charge an ememy model with my second AP (Potential threat 22"" and if I kill that on the charge I gte to charge again. The chance to multiple chareg would tempt me to use marcus early Ap to hit cheap models for 2 attacks on the charge, and use law of meat on big hitters.

UPDATE: Finished the half-sunken ruins And also finally got some half-decent light on my table, so I could do a proper shot of the mat with what terrain I have so far on it Pillars and buildings on the way. Next up for me is a few more river sections (at least another straight, and a couple of 45 degree ones) and maybe another tree. Here's a WIP shot of an upcoming straight section combined with a tree:

  30. The first time I "figured out" how the Slingshot worked, I promptly eliminated about 30 points worth of pigs from my buddies Gremlin crew, with Whirlwind. He is a very good player, and the one that taught me how to play Malifaux, so I felt pretty good about that play. In truth, I think I ended up losing that match due to not doing any schemes, but I still marked it as a victory since I learned how to fully buff Blood via Ashes and then send her to town. I've had the Viks come close to winning games by themselves, but they still pale in comparison to the first time.

  31. I don't believe Kade and Candy are Human children (from the fluff we've had provided) however woes is reference to the woes of humanity which tie into the original Pandora myth, originally each named woe was the woe of xyz in 1.5 up until Tannen I believe (from memory) Innocence Lost, Consuming Neglect and Innocence Corrupted The reason Iggy is neverborn in my opinion was that he gave himself over to the misery and became an avatar for that particular form of human suffering and misery. I don't believe the woman at the orphanage was Pandora, I think she was meant to be an example of how corrupt and repulsive humanity can be when it finds a way to gain power using and/or destroying the weak and defenseless to achieve their goals, which could also be part of why Iggy turned against his own kind.

  32. Actually Temporary Shielding is part of the newest upgrade set from the Ripples of Fate book, sold in the deck 'Generalist Upgrade Deck 2' and not yet available from the print-on-demand service. If you have a friend with access to the book, photocopies/pdf prints are still perfectly tournament legal. It isn't in the Troubleshooters box but all the other Oxfordians upgrades will be.

  33. so, about Coordinated Heist. There's this Undead Outlaw engaged with Marcus. Miranda charges the poor zombie and whiffs both attacks, leaving him at 1 Wd left. Parker waltzes in on Stick Up, chastises the zombie because He Was Told to Duck, shoots some scheme markers out of both Miranda and Marcus, Dead Outlaw promtly eats those because Too Greedy to Die and pushes out. Parker Five-Finger Discounts teh Stick Up back and waltzes out at the end of activation. Thing is, his strongest point is the narrative: there is no set of abilities in the game so thematic and fun.

  37. Work in progress shots of my Genbu and Luther. Most of the base colours on there now. The colour scheme on Genbu is based loosely on that of the eastern painted turtle. I am planning on doing his plastron (I think that is what the ventral shell part is called---any herptologists out there?) based on a different species of painted turtle, which has a bit more character. Doing the eyes on Luther is a joy after trying to paint squnity-eyed models half this size. For the hightlights on the dark parts, like the cobblestones and Luther's hat, I am trying to make them more vibrant after seeing the work of others like RustintheCity. I am also experimenting a bit with the metal on Genbu's sword (which I now notice does not show up in these angles). Not even half way through May---still lots of time to get some paint on!

  43. I've read through this entire thread, and it really just sounds like you don't like the Ten Thunders playstyle in general. You prefer playing Lynch as Neverborn, and that's great. That playstyle suits you. There have been a lot of suggestions on how to change the way you play TT masters, but almost all of them have been shot down. So I'm not sure what to tell you. You seem pretty set on the idea that TT isn't good. And that's fine. Neverborn sounds like it's your jam. It's a fun faction.

And today I had my first experience of painting facial hair. Well, early unshaven skin or whatever. So here wat I did. step: paint all the skin (whith basics, hightlits and ets.) step: Game colour "Cold grey", the same as my primer colour on models, in wash form (in consistency as a liquid snot, lol) all over unshaved areas step: Cold grey + darker grey (Game colour "Black grey" in my case) in skin folds. And I pretty like the result! Check it out. Lovely couple aren't they... AND.....BONUS! Why? Because I can! Hail yourselves and be fun!
